Safeguarding Policy (Easy Read)

Our full policy can be found via https://tinyurl.com/yfre6vt4

Project Pearl helps women involved in sex work to be safe, respected, and supported. Everyone has the right to live free from harm and abuse. We follow government rules on keeping people safe.

Our Purpose – we want to:

  • Keep women and girls safe from harm.
  • Make sure all staff, volunteers and trustees know what to do if they are worried.
  • Build a kind, Christian environment where everyone is treated with love and dignity.

This policy is for staff, volunteers, trustees, and contractors or partners. It covers work done in person, online, or by phone. Safeguarding means protecting people from abuse and neglect. An adult at risk is someone aged 18+ who needs help and cannot always protect themselves.

If You Are Worried About Someone:

  • Listen carefully.
  • Stay calm.
  • Don’t promise to keep secrets.
  • Write down what was said.
  • Tell the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) straight away.
